Other Data Resources

Studying fish is not only about collecting and analyzing fish data. Environmental conditions and other factors are always taken into account when we are analyzing or predicting fish populations, behavior, or other aspects of fish life. Other data resources are crucial for our research. Here we list other websites that share useful data regarding research in the Miramichi River.

DFO - Cumulative counts
Department of Fisheries and Oceans - Atlantic Salmon Cumulative counts in New Brunswick

Energy and Resource Department - Fish
New Brunswick Energy and Resource Development - Fish. Lake depths, Fishing regulations and fishing information.

GeoNB
The Province of New Brunswick’s gateway to geographic information and related value-added applications.

Government of Canada - Real-time Hydrometric data
Explore real-time water level and flow (discharge) data collected at over 1900 hydrometric stations across Canada.

MREAC - Miramichi Water Temperatures
MREAC has been engaged in real-time monitoring on the Miramichi watershed and has worked with a number of strategic partners in this endeavour. Water temperature, water level, air temperature, and precipitation parameters are currently being monitored.

MSA - Smolt Population Estimates
The Miramichi Salmon Association has conducted smolt population estimates on the Miramichi River for many years using a mark-recapture system.
